Most important Networking tools for a Network Engineer

Series of thought will be going through a young engineer's mind as to the tools that he should buy.  The tools he is to buy to make people believe he is an engineer. 

Do you know that there are fundamental network tools that will always be needed in any job you are going to do.  Yes,  you are going to need other tools but there is nothing as sad as an engineer not having the basic tools for working.  

Below, the basic tools will be listed in which they are always indispensable in any work

Basic Networking Tools

1. Set of screwdrivers 
2. Cutter
3. Punch down tools
4. Cable tester
5. Crimping tools and cable stripper

1. Set of screwdrivers:A screwdriver is a very essential tool.  They will be needed for any troubleshooting, installing or removal of network devices,  components.There are different types of screwdrivers depending on the type or acres to be used.  We have the common types which are the Philips(star) screwdrivers,  flat head screwdriver,  Allen screwdrivers.  They also are of different sizes. 


2. Cutter :Wire cutters are  used for cutting  electrical wires. They are of different sizes based on the materials they are designed to cut.  Some wire cutters have insulated handles to prevent electric shocks. It is needed in all works to cut cables, hold cables together 

3. Punch down tools:It is very important for installing network cable unto network panels  This is used to punch down cables unto patch panel,  keystone Jack unto it's FacePlate.  This allows for removal of cable from the patch panel


4. Cable tester: Can be used to test the condition of cables,  network port. It is used to test if network ports, cable comnectors have been properly terminated. It is highly useful during troubleshooting of network cable, tracing of network cables. 


5. Crimping tool and wire stripper: Crimping tools is used to install RJ45 connector unto different network Cable.  Cable stripper is used to remove the external sheath or coating or insulation of network cable so as to terminate it.  


These tools are very indispensable,  although other tools can be gotten but it is highly important to have this tools at hand to promote functionality.
